The Story of Temple Bar

Most visitors to Dublin end up spending time in Temple Bar at some point during their stay. The area was likely named for Sir Temple, who worked at nearby Trinity College. There was a garden and walkway on his land which was used as an access road by people in the area, who soon began to name the walkway along the water, or ‘barr’, after the landowner. Later Temple’s barr, became Temple Bar and is known as Dublin’s cultural center, one of the city’s liveliest areas filled with pubs, restaurants, nightclubs and more.

Let us arrange a wonderful Irish getaway for you and we’ll be sure to include a visit to this marvelous spot!
